So here are a few pics of some recent builds....haven't posted in a little while.

The first guitar is an OM in Brazilian Rosewood with Adirondack Spruce, curly maple binding, Waverly engraved tuners, 25.4" scale. Custom order from client.

The second guitar is an OM in Amazon Rosewood with Adirondack Spruce, ebony binding, zebra wood purfling, Gotoh 510 tuners, 25.4" scale. Spec guitar. I think I enjoy building my own designs better than receiving custom orders, but it doesn't pay as well ;)

Wow! Beautiful work, Doug. I really like the treatment you gave the dart and contrasting headstock veneer. Your aesthetic sensibilities are second to none. Well done!

I was wondering what you were up to, Doug. I see you've been busy with a couple more stunners! Your work just keeps on getting better and better!

Alex

I'll bet your client is pleased with the BRW.
And the Amazon Rosewood/Red Spruce is stunning too.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Beautiful, beautiful work. I really like the arrow inlay on the top of the second guitar.

I will confess to the OLF that the "arrow" on the top of guitar #2 was how I saved an otherwise fatal error. #stuffhappens
Thanks for the generous comments.
